From Heathrow to Tbilisi

I survived the 6 1/2 hour layover at London-Heathrow, though towards the end, I felt like I was going to pass out from exhaustion. I kept smelling mashed potatoes in the airport. And I was also tempted to buy some really luxurious items like a Burberry cashmere scarf, a touch screen Blackberry, a cocktail dress by French Connection, some beluga caviar, a two-pack of Veuve Cliquot, and some deodorant from Boots. Oh, and one more thing...the Chanel No. 5.

I headed over to the waiting room/gate for our flight. Below is a picture of the BMI plane.

The flight was about 4 hours to Yerevan, Armenia, where we stopped to refuel and drop passengers off. We got to Yerevan at about a quarter past 1 am. Here is a picture of an Armenian airline plane.

The also had to de-ice the wings of the plane:

This was also the first time I took BMI. I didn't realize that the flight attendants had to wear these strange-looking hats when boarding. I was too embarrassed to take a photograph of the flight attendants. The hats reminded me of the hats that employees of Hot Dog on a Stick have to wear, though the BMI hats are not nearly as strange.

Around 2:15 am, we left Yerevan and arrived in Tbilisi at close to 3 am. We took a cab to the hotel, and with the mix of cigarette smoke and the cabby's speeding (and resistance towards slowing down when turning), I felt like I was going to vomit when I got to the hotel. I forgot my sea bands at home. I might be in trouble during the car ride over the Caucasus Mountains.

I finally got settled in my room around 3:30 am. I had skipped in-flight Shepherd's Pie for dinner, so I was really hungry, but room service is only until 11 pm. Hunger...Internet is expensive at the hotel, so I'm hoping to find an internet cafe or something.
